Default New article notification pop-up too slow

When SuL is minimised and you add an article, it shows a little pop-up to notify you that you have clipped an article and tells you where it has gone. All well and good, except on this XP Pro system with the latest version of Firefox when I add an article with a right-click and "add new article" the pop-up takes the focus away from Firefox. I have to click on the browser window to regain focus. This feels like unintentional behaviour?

I also feel that 5 seconds for a cute sliding pop-up is rather long when you're in rapid fire mode. I'd sooner have a pop-up slapped on the screen for 2 seconds then whisked away. Or even a flash of the SuL tray icon.

The Browser shouldn't loose focus. Another user had a problem like this recently and it appeared to be related to another application he was running. He closed all other apps and the problem went away. He then restarted Windows and the other apps and the problem didn't occur again.

While testing this I have found some other problems here though, where the capture isn't working properly when SUL is minimized. This is caused by changes I've made in V1.96.0.0

You don't have to wait for it to disappear before adding more content. 2 seconds is too short to read what's there, should you want to. I have my Task Bar set to auto-hide so I wouldn't see any changes to the icon. I am planning to play a sound on capture (when hidden) .

I've found a serious problem with the slide-up window that is displayed when Surfulater is minimized to the System Tray and new articles are added. I've had a few reports of problems here, but have never been able replicate them until now. The pre-release version I do most of my testing on doesn't exhibit the problem, but the final release does, some of the time.

This bug prevents new articles from being added. Until it is fixed, don't use Surfulater minimized to the system tray when capturing content.

I would like to think that the fix for this will also resolve the focus problem you raised, but seeing that I can't replicate that, I won't know. I'm looking to get an update out this week.

So it seems.

This and some other problems have been fixed in V1.96.2.0, due out in the next few days.
