Default Must scroll to read article saved in text

I downloaded the update today v1.99 and now none of the articles are expanded on the page. There's only about an inch showing in the text box and I must scroll to read the article. Please help. Thanks.

Can you attach a screen shot so I can see precisely what you mean.

Also if you use View|Content Styles|Classic does it work properly?

I tried that but it didn't work. Here's the screenshot:

The whole article used to show next to "Text." Now it's just the top of the article and there's no way to resize that part of the window. When I click on "-" to change it to "+" it stays the same size but gives me scroll buttons so that I must scroll to read the article.

Thanks so much for your help!

Question

Thanks for the screen shot Melissa. What version of Internet Explorer are you using?

I have IE7 but I usually use Firefox instead. I downloaded the Firefox extension when I first bought Surfulater.

Surfulater uses a part of IE to display its content. If you have IE7 installed then Surfulater will be using the component from IE7, which must be causing this problem.

I plan to work on resolving IE7 issues shortly as it is now getting closer to release. In the mean time can you switch back to IE6?

I'm afraid switching back would be a nightmare because I did that a couple times when I used the IE7 Beta and something got corrupted. When they came out with the most recent version of IE7, I finally got everything working the way I wanted it again without having to reinstall XP. I'm afraid I know just enough to be dangerous.

What if I switch back to v.198 of Surfulater until the IE7 stuff gets resolved? It was working fine with IE7. Would I just uninstall v.199 and then reinstall v.198? I still have both installation files in my download folder. If I did that, would I lose my databases?

If you backed up your Surfulater Knowledge Bases before installing V1.99.1.0 then you can uninstall V1.99.1.0 and reinstall V1.98 and restore the KB backups. If you don't have backups its not so easy.

I just did a Google on "Uninstall IE7". The instructions on these pages seem straightforward enough.

I'll try and look at the various IE7 issues this week.

Thumbs up Some good news

Melissa,
I've installed IE7, RC1 and have pretty much resolved the problem you reported. There is another IE7 problem to fix and then I'll put a new release out. It should be out in the next day or so.

Thanks so much, Neville! I've been offline for a week - my husband had back surgery -- so am just now coming up for air. I look forward to the update.

-Melissa
